Re: No A/C then sudden perfect a/c after as much as hour
In this case meter shows a/c fully charged when a/c is blowing cold. I don't trust Mr. "AC Pro". Need a real set of gauges on it and know for sure on the amount of refrigerant in the systems. That is how all proper repairs start. A leak test prior to recovery and recharge should be done.

Weld or something causing the line to vibrate too much, creating a crack over time. I have seen this a lot over the years with transverse engines.

We're talking about a Vette here with an accumulator. The inlet and outlet on the evap should be close in temp. So charge to 80% and feel the difference. Slowly add more until they feel the same.

Re: 1986 Corvette R-12 to R-134a Conversion
The higher capacity listing is most likely for an A6 compressor, which this does not have. Also, there is or was enough refrigerant to engage the clutch if "All" the electrical was operating correctly. Jumping the clutch coil only provides data for a single system component. The data I pos...

The data I posted is from ALL data, OE charge.tbirdtbird wrote: ↑Wed Apr 19, 2023 1:07 pm If you do the math, Tim's data shows charge to be 2.25 lbs, and your service center (? a brake shop) installed 1.8 lbs).
