Re: 2000 Chevy Prizm

My information shows it to be, an evaporator mounted OT. Check the liquid line outlet on the evaporator.

Re: Looking for advice before I change the compressor on 2007 Dodge Nitro

I do not believe this compressor has a relief valve on it. But might double check the back of the compressor. Question I have, is compressor is leaking refrigerant badly when operating. Is someone just adding more and more refrigerant? What are the pressures? Are the electric fans coming on correctl...

Re: How much torque needed to turn a compressor?

Each compressor has its own resistance. An A6 will take a lot more torque to turn compared to a Scroll compressor. Most compressors can be turned by hard with reasonable resistance.

Add 80% to the compressor via the suction port. 20% to the accumulator.

Re: Custom A/C system diagnostic

Hard to beat you listed pressures. IS the capillary tube on the exp valve attached to the suction line and wrapped with moisture resistant tape? The system is using the 99' Mercury OT, the TXV was removed as the plumbing was deemed too difficult at the time of installation... Personally, i would ch...

Re: Mounting evaporator on its side

Thanks Tim, Not what I wanted to hear, but better than building an ineffective system. The link you provided is good; lots of evaporators to choose from, but unfortunately no measurements. Do you know of an evaporator that is approx 9" x 5"? Thanks again, Paul I can check with a coil comp...

Re: Mounting evaporator on its side

Hi, I am building a custom AC and I have been trying to find a small evaporator 9" wide by 5" high. the only evaporator I can find is from a Freightliner http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Heater-Evaporator-coil-Fits-Freightliner-with-OEM-N83-315910-/291646128186?hash=item43e776c03a:g:4eUAAOSwNy...
