Get thr4 pressures correct and do not forget to check the blend doors. Clamp off the heater core also.

Re: R134a pressures too high

32 oz was for R12 right? I realize you have a new condenser and fans but did you try to mist the condenser with a water hose? IF psi drops a lot, you could still have air flow problem. 105 ambient with vent of 60 is not that bad. Does that model have a heat exchanger in the high side lines?

Try a large salvage yard like LKQ. They are all over the world.

Re: 1987 DeVille thermistor

You might try to block the fitting so refrigerant will not leak out of the fitting. Then select a thermistor that will fit on the outside of the tubing and insulate it. Trane HVAC uses this type of sensor, mini splits by Fujitsu uses this type of sensor also. You might try Mouser Electronics for a t...

Re: 1979 Chevy Truck

If you have the end connections, why not have a welding shop TIG weld them onto new tubing? Or another choice is to TIG weld barbs onto the fittings?

When you lose cooling, are the aux fans working? Is the compressor clutch engaged?

Re: CONDENSER question.....different sizes

Let's remember the purpose of a condenser is to reject the heat in the refrigerant. Some condensers are micro tubed, some are parallel flow, some are tube and fin. It not only is the size, it is the type that separated one from the other. Older systems contained more refrigerant than newer systems h...
