Re: Evaporator size

Are you planning to use 2 evaporators? You will then need a separate metering device like they do for rear evaporators in a vehicle. It might help if you describe your vehicle as in make, model, and year. Also, what compressor are you using? do you plan to use a different condenser? A compressor can...

Re: 07 Chevy HHR Low Side Service Port

The valve core is actually the secondary seal. The cap is the primary seal. Are your caps in place? do they have a rubber seal in them?

Re: Ford F-250 A/C blows cold then hot

When it starts to blow hot, is the front of the compressor turning? Fords had a history of bad cycling switches.

Re: pressure spiking at startup then nomalizing

At what RPM are you getting 42 low and 225 high? I see you stated you charged by weight but R134 needs less refrigerant than R12. Could you possibly be slightly over charged? Did I ever tell you I do not like to convert? This is coming from someone with a butt load of R12. GRINS

Re: Stumped - incessant cycling and pressures all out of whack (video included)

Clear some things up. What vehicle is the condenser and evap from? Is there by any chance still an orfice tube in the evap? You mentioned you tried a new expansion valve but you also mentioned a pressure switch. How about some photos of the system. make sure you step back and include an over all vie...

Re: 1969 Caprice/Comfortron/Transducer

You are testing my memory which I probably will fail. The transducer has 2 wires. Tan goes to the amplifier. I think it is an 18ga wire. The other gets grounded and is a 20 ga wire. I am guessing the size of the wires but the tan one is marked 18T and the other is marked 20B

Re: Adding/draining oil from a Ford FS10 compressor

To drain it, remove it from vehicle and turn it up side down. You should rotate the shaft by hand also. To fill it, pour oil into suction port and also turn shaft.

Re: hardline and Swagloc fittings for auto a/c

I sort of remember GM had a problem eating compressors due to the route the lines were run. It seems (if I can remember) that the suction line cause liquid to enter the compressor and ate the valves. You might try to contact GMTech as he should have more info on this.

Re: Manifold high and low side vacuum PLEASE HELP!

That you tube video has some bad info. Most gauge sets do not have a schrader at the yellow hose for purging. You would crack it loose to purge the hose. Also, put the blower on high speed not low speed. The you tuber was adding refrigerant as a liquid. you can not do this unless you are charging a ...
