Re: Seeking advice on system

I figured out the root cause of my issue. When the temperature of the evaporator core is nearing freezing, the compressor cycles on and off. I pulled the sensor from the evap core, the compressor no longer turns off and the air is coming out very cold (too cold). I still have to verify the sensor i...

Could your compressor clutch have too large of air gap, even though new?

Re: Flush mixed in with oil after replacing everything Honda 2006 Pilot

I've used that aerosol A/C Pro Flush & Clean three times (3 different vehicles) to backflush lines from condenser to compressor (and also the serpentine condenser on one of those). In all cases I used compressed air to evaporate any remaining solvent; I'm in Arizona so that didn't take long. All...

Re: I am stumped... 2006 GMC truck

Is your truck regular cab or 4-door truck with dual air? If 4-door, I'd say 1.6 lbs R134a is not enough

Disclaimer - I'm NOT an AC professional. But it seems a good time for a brand new compressor to help with both of your issues, contact board sponsor ackits.com

Re: 12volt compressor systems

Cusser I respect your experience and contributions here. My comment about no sight of Teslas in the middle of the day in AZ and NV is sourced from a similar comment by the venerable poster by the name of Bohica [Brad] 2 years ago. I will admit that anyone parking ANY vehicle in the direct sun in su...

Re: 12volt compressor systems

There are no Teslas on the road in the summer daytime heat in Arizona I'm in Arizona, and there are quite a few Teslas on the roads here, even in summer. I know 3 Tesla owners and each says the AC works fine. And one friend owns an electric Mustang, says fine. 12V comp will exhaust the capability o...

Re: Metric to SAE/standard A/C plumbing questions

I worked in an industrial chemistry laboratory for over 4 decades. SwageLok fittings are absolutely the best, and the by-far most-common fittings used in gas (and liquid) chromatography. What that means for us here is that these fittings were leak free for hydrogen (explosive) and for helium molecul...

David - just curious: is this a GM vehicle and the leak on the driver side of condenser?

Re: Should I Top Off My 16 Year Old System?

But I do agree with the point made above. If you aren't having any problems with the system currently, I would leave it alone. Disclaimer: I am NOT an AC professional. I also agree that if you feel comfortable and cool, then the system is working fine, so do not attach gauges or "top off"...
