Re: Frustrating 2010 Jeep Grand with 5.7

Laws of physics dictate that vacuum cannot be 31-32. Your gauge is a little off.

Sounds like the actuator flaps/doors need to be investigated.

Your pressures look pretty normal.

Re: 05 civic ac problem

First thing to do is familiarize yourself as to what the compressor looks like when it's working fine: the center part will turn by the belt, not just the outside pulley. This is called engaging of the AC compressor clutch, works by magnetism. Then - when the AC starts blowing hot air, pull over and...

Re: 2006 PT Cruiser diagnostic

My sister now has my mom's 2005 PT Cruiser (Las Vegas) and the AC in it works good. So there's good chance for you !!

Re: 70 GMC, 134 retrofit problem

Pressures at idle were 30 L and 270H. Ambient temp when work was done was about 85 F. ...Any suggestions will be appreciated. Wait for a pro to respond, because I'm NOT one, and while I work with both R-12 and R134a, I've never done a conversion. That said: pressures are typically measured at 1500 ...

Re: Stick with R12 or not?

Stay R-12, that's what I still use in my 1988 truck. New compressor to fix the leak. Can replace drier if you feel necessary, depends how long zero refrigerant is in the system. Yes, I still have my own stash of R-12 cans, but several shops here in Phoenix still do R-12. My R-12 gauge set has adapte...

Re: 1979 chevy truck

If you're in USA. may be simpler, less expensive, and perform better if staying R-12: you wouldn't need to flush out all the old R-12 oil to then add R134a oil. R-12 is available and legal in USA to use in such vehicles (like in my 1988 truck). If there's no leakage, that R-12 cost is a one-time cha...

Re: A/C stops blowing cold when it's hot outside (above 80 f) - 2007 CR-V EX

Are all the cooling fans spinning when the AC blows hot? I assume that the compressor center is not turning when the AC blows hot, that only the outside pulley turns - is that correct? Maybe the AC clutch gets hot and the gap is a hair wide so it stops engaging when hot. I had that happen on my old ...

Re: Compressor shim removal

You can see the shims in the pictures. They're on the shaft slid all the way to the back. Yes I am wanting to reduce the air gap, just can't seem to get them to slide off. Thanks, Justin Justin - you did remove the circlips, right to try to get a spacer off? But first make sure that this is SAFE to...
