High 220psi
What should I look at now?

Post the pressures at about 1800 rpm after a couple of minutes at that rpm. Pressures at idle don't tell a ton.

Re: SD7V16 1214 pressures

Noted that the high pressure valve is leaking when I remove the cap, but cap appear to seal when on. Typical; the cap is the real seal. Is it possible to have 50psi low side pressure and be underfilled? Only getting 6 deg temp drop from ambient out of the ducts Pressures need to be measured after a...

Sounds overcharged or air in the system. Have a shop pull out the refrigerant and weigh it, and then the shop can add the correct amount for this vehicle.

I guess leave it run for 2 hours and then shut it off

2 hours is overkill.

Re: R12 -> R134a 1989 Porsche Kit Questions

I can imagine the venturi pumps can't pull much of a vacuum. Should I pressurize with compressed shop air? Should I get some nitrogen? The system is "empty" at this point - only ambient air and oil in the compressor. Thanks. Well, typically vacuum is applied soon after the drier or accumu...

Re: R12 -> R134a 1989 Porsche Kit Questions

How would you approach a tech. that is touted as a master auto. tech. but doesn't have a micron gauge? So far I haven't been able to locate a shop that uses an electronic vacuum gauge near where I live (Silicon Valley CA). I've talked to the guy and he seems reasonable and willing to tackle the eva...

Re: Need some direction....

Oil on the compressor's clutch is not good, but slippage does not appear to be the acute issue, your pressures are. If your fan shroud is intact, I do suspect your fan clutch or electric cooling fans, your condenser seems to be unable to shed its heat. You state the fan is operating; well, if there'...
