Re: 2014 GM Truck - Compressor?

hello it has been years since I was here also and i am kind of seeing the same thing with the forum "not a lot of activity" On your 2014 GM truck AC system problem there is a known problem on the AC line right at the compressor. They have a newly redesigned line and they should fix this fo...

Re: Head seems low on 98 GMC

I had a few of those old HT6's and clutch's in my workshop but threw them all out after the great flood of 2010. You used to be able to get a kit and completely rebuild them fairly easily. Did probably a dozen or so back years ago was kind of a hobby LOL

Re: Stumped - incessant cycling and pressures all out of whack (video included)

sometimes when cobbling systems together you have to just sit down and get a sheet of paper and actually draw out the system in detail. You may find that as others mentioned that your service port locations are not in the right position to get proper readings. The systems are pretty straight forward...

Re: Ford F-250 A/C blows cold then hot

I would be tempted to just replace the low pressure switch that is quick and easy. The problem must be really intermittent if an AC shop cannot diagnose? Just need to take pressure readings and keep an eye on compressor engagement.

Re: 07 Chevy HHR Low Side Service Port

I like to use a product called NYLOG whenever I install any AC O-rings / schrader valves / service port seals or other parts. The stuff is amazing GIT U SUM I keep both red and blue on hand. The red is for R134A and R410 types systems and the blue is typically used for the older R22 and R12

Re: pressure spiking at startup then nomalizing

Probably a double pass condenser which you will never fully flush. It is most likely partially stopped up and constantly feeding debris and junk through your system. Start over and replace everything including the condenser. That is why the dealerships and professional AC shops always replace the co...

Re: NOISES AFTER REPLACING AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM

Sounds like they left some trash in the system and you have a restriction in the metering device. (I think these old fords just have a orfice tube?) They will have to take the system back apart and clean or replace the metering device. Sears should take care of this for you.

Re: 100 psi on low end and compressor clutch not engaging

If should be a simple 2 wire plug on the low pressure switch? If so just use a piece of wire to jumper it to keep the compressor running while charging. I am not clear on if your 90 100 psi pressure was on low or high side? (must be the high side?) if you are reading the low side (blue gauge) the lo...

Re: Disengaging noise

I do not think the clutch is generating the noise, I think it is the internals of the compressor. The compressor appears to free wheel after the clutch disengages much more than normal. I do not think she is compressing much LOL.
