Year: 2006
Make: Jeep
Model: Liberty
Engine Size: 3.7
Refrigerant Type: R134a
Country of Origin: United States

New to forum,

Need help with the following questions.

Does a 2006 Jeep Liberty Limited with 3.7 V6 engine use any Orifice tube? If yes where does it go in this system?

I have torn down this A/C system and find no orifice tube in any lines.
I am replacing the Compressor, Condensor, Accumulator and Liquid Line. The Parts supplier states that the Liquid line must be replaced since it contains the Orifice tube. But the same supplier also provided a new orifice tube. CONFUSED.

I have tried several Air Conditioning shops in area and get multiple answers. Also tried Jeep OEM parts counter and they are also confused. OEM 2006 Jeep service manual shows whole section on orifice tube but does not describe the exact location if any.

Thanks

My 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee also has listings for just the orifice tube. However, it is in the liquid line. So, your $5 orifice tube now costs $30 or $40 because you have to buy the whole line. On mine, if you look into the end of the liquid line that goes into the condenser, with a flashlight, you can see the tab of the orifice tube.

O/T is in the liquid line.
