96 seville. compressor died. had crud at o-tube. got used compressor, got cold a/c for 1 week. assume compressor is leaking. this was 3 yrs ago. rarely drive car. decided to fix it. got new compressor. found a complete 95 seville in boneyard. pulled o-tube. no debris. looks clean. got condenser. i see it is 33 row. my original condenser is 26 row? same overall size. it was cheap. $15. i know my condenser has internal crud. i can only assume the new/used one has less crud or maybe none? so, is the number of rows any concern or is that just a design change GM put thru. both unit seem to blow air fine with shop air.
As long as the OT was nice and clean on the '95, the system should be good to go on the '96. More condenser rows is always better. Maybe GM decided the original design in '93-95 was overkill - probably wanted to make sure the '93 changeover to R-134a had plenty of capacity - and decided to save a few bucks... on their top of the line car... yep, sounds like GM.
