Running car engine with uncharged/un-oiled A/C system okay?

fuzzcar on Sat October 08, 2011 2:28 PM User is offline

Year: 1994
Make: Chevrolet
Model: Caprice
Engine Size: 5.7
Refrigerant Type: none

I got my car up and running after a complete rebuild. I replaced everything in the A/C system, its all brand new. I have not charged or added any oil to the A/C system. The car is not on the road yet, I'm still messing with the brakes and ironing out a few bugs here and there.

Is it okay for me to run the engine (with the air compressor electrical connector unplugged) with an un-oiled A/C compressor? Obviously I will not be turning on the air.

Yes.
