Vintage Air Trinary Switch Question

roger55 on Fri June 10, 2011 5:18 PM User is offlineView users profile

The VA information states in a few different places that the cooling fan engagement pressure is 254 psi.
Does anybody know what the disengagement pressure is?

I called VA and talked to 2 people who said that there is no differential and that it will engage at 254 on rising pressure and disengage at 254 on falling pressure.

I find that hard to believe. All other trinary switches I've seen as well as other fan engagement only switches have a differential to them.

Why am I asking? Cuz I just gotta know what I'm buying. I might choose another brand. I need one for the VA system in my '55 Chevy plus, I'm looking at getting one for my LT1 powered El Camino and it is still using R12. I might want a different pressure switch for that one.
