2001 Frontier blowing warm

chrisexv6 on Thu May 26, 2011 6:59 PM User is offline

Year: 2001
Make: Nissan
Model: Frontier
Engine Size: 3.3L V6
Refrigerant Type: r134a
Ambient Temp: 80
Pressure Low: 16
Pressure High: 160

My 01 Frontier has been blowing warm since late last summer. Didnt get around to fixing it then, but now I had a bit of time to hook a gauge set up to it.

Showing 16 psi on the low side, 160 psi on the high with the engine at 1500RPM and AC on max blow

I think the low side is low and the high side is good, but figured Id ask the experts here first.

The compressor is definitely engaged (I can see the pulley engage and disengage with the A/C button), but Im just getting warm air.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Sounds low on refrigerant. Check for leaks, reclaim and recharge to OEM specs.

Look at the hoses for signs of oil. Nissan uses terrible hoses.
