How R134a to convert from R12

Year: 79
Make: chevy

Ok, I cant find a clear statement of how much R12 was in my system. I had an R4 compressor, but am replacing it with a Sanden. I am replacing the accumulator and flushing out everything. Now. If I can find out how much R12 was in the system, is R134a replaced in the same amount? If I cant find out how much was in there before, how do I know how much to put in? the Compressor comes with oil in it, so I understand no additional oil is required, is this correct? 79 chevy corvette is my car.
