The Cost?

elchucko on Mon September 13, 2010 2:11 PM User is offline

Year: 2000
Make: Jeep
Model: Cherokee
Engine Size: 4.0L
Refrigerant Type: R134a
Ambient Temp: 80 F
Country of Origin: United States

I don't have the readings. The air cool feels marginal at 75F. After the a/c is on about 5 minutes, the compressor clutch begins to chatter. What can cause this? Thank you

No cool, clutch chatter; best guess would be low charge, no lubrication migration, compressor locking up.

If the compressor locks up will there be any cooling? My a/c has some cooling output.

If the compressor locks up, there will be 0 cooling and you will be looking at a complete system replacement and flush due to the debris in the system. If there already isn't some in there.
