Reman or New A6 Compressor?

69-er on Wed September 01, 2010 1:37 PM User is offlineView users profile

Year: 1968
Make: Pontiac
Model: Firebird
Engine Size: 400
Refrigerant Type: R12

I might be needing a new A6 compressor. It seems that the concesus is to buy new compressors instead of reman ones. Does this apply to the A6 compressors? Are the remans pretty reliable?

Thanks!

Larry

Depends on the source. The company we use seem to have very reliable remans. Only issue right now is A6 cores. Worst case if you decided to use us we can send in your core and have the company go through it. There is also the new aluminum body A6 replacements available. if interested in those send a email to the staff at [email protected] and they can price out those units.

I had a customer bring me 3 rebuilt A6's last week before we got one that worked. And I had to open the clutch gap on that one before I could install it.
