Oil amount needed for new system?

brimac50 on Wed June 16, 2010 1:04 AM User is offline

Year: 1980
Make: Chevrolet
Model: C20
Engine Size: 350
Refrigerant Type: R-12
Country of Origin: United States

I'm rebuilding the ac on an older 80' 3/4T. New compressor, evaporator, accumulator and hoses. Will flush the condenser, and leak check. I've recently purchase a Sanden SD5 compressor from ACKITS, instead of going OEM. With a completely "dry"system, how much refrigerant oil should I add, and where, ..... before buttoning every thing up? R-12 system. Appreciate the help.

New Sanden will come with close to 6.5 ounces of oil. That old Chevy has a large evap and condenser so I would add 1 ounce of PAG 100.
