another A/C update

Year: 2002
Make: Jeep
Model: liberty
Engine Size: 3.7L

Hi, I have a 2002 liberty limited with the 3.7L. My A/C compresser siezed last Sept. and I replaced it. I did not use it much until recently, The system pressures are all good but it blows really cold for about 15 minutes then it blows warm air. If I turn it off for 10-15 minutes it blows cold again then warm. Has anyone else had this problem?

I drove home yesterday, A/C worked great for ten minutes then it cut out, with engine still running I unplugged the plugged in the compressor, nothing changed. I then tapped on the clutch with the end of a screwdriver and came on. I have called around and no one sells the clutch assembly. Do I have to replace the compressor or is there something some one can recommend I try?

Just reduce the gap and it should be fine. Unscrew the center nut, remove clutch plate, take out some shim washers, reassemble.

That clutch gap should be able to adjust. Remove the front hub assembly and remove a shim to close the clutch gap. Should be set around 15thousands or a old match book cover will do as well.
