Propane refrigerant

ZZ55 on Wed June 02, 2010 9:12 AM User is offline

Year: 1982
Make: GMC
Refrigerant Type: Propane

I installed 18oz of Propane/Isobutane mix to my r-12 system (53 oz sys) after vacing. It gets down to 40 degrees in about 2 1/2 min. at idle and head pressures are very good... it basically works as I was told it would. So my question is what's the down side to this refrigerant (aside from the obvious)?

1. The obvious.
2. Not legal to use as refrigerant in vehicles.
