Year: 1968
Make: chevy
Model: pickup
Engine Size: 5.3
Refrigerant Type: 134A

hello all, new to the forum but looked around some. Looks like there is alot of great info on here.
I have a 1968 chevy pickup that had factory air. I have installed a newer 2002 motor (5.3) including the AC compressor. I upgraded the POA valve, new hoses and new condensor, I am still using the factory evaporator in the heater box. I am not sure on how much to charge this? I had it going last year but with some updates to the truck I had the system open and will now recharge it after a new drier install. Anyway this was not as cold as I had hoped last year, I tried to charge it using the published pressures for the 2002 silverado the compressor came from. What is the best way to start or is my system mismatched with this compressor? with the different pieces I dont know how much to put in to start?
Thanks!
Dave

This one will be a guess. Try for the high side to be 2.2-2.5 the ambient temp.
