Blend door

Year: 1995
Make: Ford
Model: Crown Vic
Refrigerant Type: 134a

The blend door is not working on my sisters car. It's stuck on heat. New switch that didn't work. I looked at the top motor to see if it moves & it doesn't I've read to replace the motor you have to pull the dash. Is this true? It a pretty tight fit in there, can you remove the motor without pulling the dash? I read were some people cut into the box. Thanks!

Yes you have to remove the whole dash assembly. This and heater core leaks are two very common problems with the Crown Victoria/Grand Marquis and both require removal of the dash.

Thanks, I was afraid of that. How hard & long would it take to pull it?

Depends on your mechanical ability. Flat rate is 5.7 hours and it usually takes right around there. Just drop the steering column, remove instrument cluster and dash assembly.
