HELP!!!

My a/c is all outta whack. The cold works, but when I turn on the heat, the passenger floor panel blows cold and the upper vents blow hot. The hot also sticks and blows even when the system has been turned off. When I adjust the zone knob to the floor area, the system switches from re-circ to fresh. There is also a slight thud when I turn on the system. Fan speed works as it should.

From what I've read, this is a blend door issue but which one? I found the lower actuator, which seems like an easy fix. Where is the upper? I've pulled all fuses to recalibrate, disconected the battery, held buttons in for 1 minute, burned incense and dance around a fire naked, but nothing worked.

Thanks!

BD

This truck has a dual zone I take it? If so you will have two motors that operate the heat and cool. One is on top of the case and the other will be strait down from the top. These can be a royal pair to remove with out pulling the dash and case. The top one can be slightly seen from the gloved box area but almost impossible to remove with out pulling the dash. The bottom one is not as bad but if you have the center counsel, which can change every thing. This may be best to take it to the professionals to perform this service for testing and repair.
