Coupler question

Big3 on Tue August 25, 2009 8:54 PM User is offline

What is the best high/low side 134a gauge set couplers to use. My high side quick connect works on all but one of my cars. It will just not seat fully on my 04 Dodge Durango high side port so I think i should buy a decent set of couplers in case the one I am using is not made to exact tolerances.

If you click HERE you will see the couplers we use everyday at the shop. Much better than the quick couplers that tend to not work after a while or leak. With these you"ll be sure to have a tight seal because you tighten them down after clipping them on.

Adam, the 84772 manifold set comes with those type couplers, right? I borrowed such a Mastercool set once, and the couplers are very nice.

The Mastercool 84772 gauge set has the screw down type couplers.

Are the quick connect type shown any better than the screw on type?

The premium couplers have a two-step process instead of simply pressing on. First couple, then turn the knob to open the valves and allow refrigerant to flow. This keeps the shrader valve in the car fully closed while coupling or uncoupling, reducing refrigerant loss.
