Where is the orifice tube

Year: 1992
Make: Camaro
Model: RS
Engine Size: 305
Refrigerant Type: R12
Country of Origin: United States

I am going to replace the compressor because the clutch burned up and the compressor has high mileage. Warranty on the compressor requires that the receiver dryer and orifice tube be replaced. I hate to tear into the system if it is really not necessary. Anyway where is the orifice tube and how do I get to it if it is desirable to replace it?

Thanks for the assistance.

It is in the liquid line going to the evaporator.

Follow the line from the Condensor to the evaporator, somewhere in it will be a connection, your OT will be in that connection.

It will be either in the outlet of the condenser or inlet of the evap, can't remember, but as stated, in that line from the condenser to the evap..

It will be located at the evaporator. Simply remove the liquid line from the evaporator and you should see it.
