White vs. Black OT - both same size

knightgang on Mon August 17, 2009 7:39 PM User is offline

Year: 97
Make: Olds
Model: Cutlass Supreme
Engine Size: 3.1
Refrigerant Type: 134a

I was noticing on ACkits website that there are two OTs available for this car. One white and one black. Both are .072 opening. Is there any difference in them other than color? Just wondering...

White = Evap mounted.
Black = Condenser mounted.

Orifice tube needed depends on where it is located on the vehicle. I believe the white one is the correct one for this application.

Thanks Tim. That is what was used. I have just been concerned that mabe it was the wrong one because vent temps do not get below 55 while idling. Once on the road, they will drop down as low as 35. Pressures are good 40-45/225-275. Ambients between 80-95. OT is between cons and evap mounted under the brake booster. I just recall that when the old one was removed, I did nto see any while on it. Was not sure if that was due to the oil and dye in the system or if it was black.

Based on you reply, I was correct with the while OT, so that is not the issue.
