Vacuum Pump Hose Problem

Helimech on Sun August 02, 2009 9:59 AM User is offline

Year: 1995
Make: Honda
Model: Civic - DX
Engine Size: 1.5
Refrigerant Type: R134a
Ambient Temp: 90
Country of Origin: United States

I just bought a used JB Industries DV-85N vacuum pump. The inlet on this pump has a tee for connecting either a 1/4" or 3/8" flare fitting hose. The yellow hose on my gauge set has a 5/16" female flare fitting. This 5/16" fitting screws on my R134a can adapter just fine but not on the pump. I can't find a 1/4" to 5/16" or a 3/8" to 5/16" adapter. Anyone out there had this problem?

I would think one of these would work for you.

Yes, you need the 82634. The threads on your R-134a yellow hose are 1/2 acme thread. The adapter has those on the male end, and 1/4 flare threads in the female end.
