Well, thatis really "slight" as compared to some I see, but as we know, leaks don't get better.. I would say no rush on changing it yet, but when you do, use one of the clones from Ackits.com, I used the Seltec/tama, and so far, three years, it's been great. I believe Sanden also make one carried by ACKITS.COm...

In my case, my truck had 197,000 miles on it (Now has 230,000+) and I felt it was time to replace it anyway... But sure, you can take it apart clean it replace the O rings and shaft sel, but sometimes time is worth my than the cost of a "very resonable" new compressor.... Hope this helps..

Helps allot thanks chick, yea i understand i do,but i have more time/tools then $$ right now, when i do it yea getting worked over good cleaned up new shaft and O rings, and mounted properly,if leaks still, then i'll pull the trigger on a Sanden from Tim.

but i gota ask do you think it's leaking any freon at all with that oil seepage if it don't get much worse?
like i said the Tek-mate showed no alarm.

This is why I use dye-- the oil and refrigerant IS leaking-- just not when you leak checked it-- leaks are like farts-- they don't happen continuously sometimes-- they are intermittent- or they build up--and let go-- so yes you have a slow intermittent leak- and only you can decide if and when you wish to deal with it---

-------------------------
The number one A/C diagnostic tool there is- is to know how much refrigerant is in the system- this can only be done by recovering and weighing the refrigerant!!
Just a thought.... 65% of A/C failures in my 3200 car diagnostic database (GM vehicles) are due to loss of refrigerant due to a leak......

Dye is fine and serves as a backup in my opinion. I'm just not willing to wait a week for a leak to show up along with the loss of refrigerant in doing so. No leak detection device is perfect for all conditions.
