mineral oil color

Year: 93
Make: olds
Model: cutlass

Hello, had a question about mineral oil. Had to recharge my 93 Olds cutlas cierra went back with r-12. I picked up some mineral oil at the local auto parts store, it was tan in color. The oil I drained and flushed out was clear. Was just wondering if the tan color was normal for mineral oil or should it be clear. Thanks for any advice.

depends on the brand an viscosity of that brand, , if a sealed container should be fine...

Are you saying you converted to R134a sometime in the past and are now going back to R12?

sorry for the confusion. The car has always been r-12. Compressor clutch went bad had to replace compressor. I was thinking that mineral oil used in r-12 systems was clear. That I bought was tan in color.
