Need help finding factory specs

jimgineer on Mon July 06, 2009 8:21 PM User is offline

Year: 1971
Make: Chevy
Model: 3/4T 2wd
Engine Size: 402 BB
Refrigerant Type: R12
Country of Origin: United States

I am trying to track down factory R-12 and a/c oil charge. I can't find data under hood,(engine fire several years back). The local Chevy dealer said they don't have info that far back. Since an a/c hose is blown I can't recover and weigh.... I am retrofitting with R134a/ POE and Id like to get my ducks in a row....

Thanks for the reply, but unfortunately that only goes back to 1985 for full size Chevy and GM pickups.

I'm thinking those took 3.75lbs. Maybe GMTech has some data on those as even Mitchell's Vintage section does not list anything.
