R-4 Clutch pulley

Year: 1987
Make: chevy
Model: monte carlo
Country of Origin: United States

I was researching a new compressor for a 1987 chevy monte carlo and I have a question. I have to check the coil position it is either 9 or 12 o-clock. That is the easy part. I have also noticed the r-4 has 3 different different clutch pulley sizes. 4 5/8 , 5'" and a 5.5". I am going to say the smaller one will spin faster producing better cooling as long as I have a good condenser fan to keep the high side down. I am not sure which size came on the car factory. Would it be a problem putting the 4 5/8 one on if the car originally came with the 5.5? I will be using either a red or blue otube instead of the factory white.
