Need help to identify compressor

SpinRite on Sun July 05, 2009 4:05 PM User is offline

I sure wish I had found this forum first! I wouldn't have had to start at the end and work backwards

Anyway, if you've been following my other thread ("Custom-built system -- how much refrigerant?"), you have already guessed that my comperssor would need replacing.

Most of the numbers have worn off of the tags, so I'm hopeful that the experts here will recognize it on sight, and tell me what to order. I am looking for an exact match, so that the mounting holes will still be the same.

Here is what I can read off the tags:
ZEXEL made in Japan
SAE-J639 R-134a
(green mfr's tag)
ZXL 100PG 180 cubic cms.
type: DKS - ???*
No.: 506211 ???

Thanks for any help.

I'll see if I can cross the number Monday. Might also check this link, Seltec Compressors.

Based on the partial tag info ("180 cc") on the old compressor, and the dimensions table on your link, I think that I need model TM-16 HD.

Does that one sound like a drop-in replacement for the old one, pictured above?
