not warm air, but not cold air either

cnotes on Wed July 01, 2009 1:56 PM User is offline

Year: 2001
Make: Chevy
Model: Silverado 2500
Engine Size: 6.0
Refrigerant Type: r134
Country of Origin: United States

My a/c has recently fluctuated between the normal cold air and just air. Yesterday it stopped fluctuating and just blew air. I'm thinking it just needs to be recharged. Can anybody tell me the process of this or should I take it in to an A/C shop? I usually do my own work when it comes to the truck but A/C work is something that I've never done and definitely don't want to mess up.

Thanks in advance for any info.

Cody

Your best bet is going to be to take it to an A/C shop. They will be able to tell you the amount recovered and let you know how low it was and if they can spot any leaks. However if you would like to do it yourself we sell a DIY starter kit that works great and will allow you to pull a vacuum and recharge your system. If you have more than 1 vehicle this is a great investment as it is about the price of 2 A/C services and will allow you to work on friends/family vehicles as well.
