O ring sealing problem

70rustrunner on Thu June 18, 2009 5:11 PM User is offline

Year: 1995
Make: Pontiac
Model: Firebird
Engine Size: 350
Refrigerant Type: R134
Ambient Temp: 90
Pressure Low: 40
Pressure High: 220
Country of Origin: United States

Replaced the receiver/dry using the o rings that came with it. They had a smaller cross section than the old ones but I installed them anyway. One side sealed fine but the other side leaked badly. I replaced that one with an o ring like the original. I still seem to have a small leak. The connection is good and tight. Suggestions?

Somtimes you need to use just a little larger O ring, they are a little thicker.. but not so large that the edges are deformed.. mAke sure the threaded section of the line is not damaged also
