Oil

Year: 2003
Make: Chevy
Model: Silverado
Engine Size: 4.8
Refrigerant Type: 134
Ambient Temp: 85
Pressure Low: 0
Pressure High: 0

I am working on a 03 Silverado that has had the system drained due to someone's stupidity. So I have decided to do a flush and refill. I have a good vacume pump and have installed many new systems, but it has been a long (20 years) time ago. IIRC the oil was already in the new pumps and I never added any...even on replacements. So I'm wondering what to do about the oil on this one. I don't have a book on this trk so I don't know oil or coolant capacity. Are the cans of oil that you can buy at the local auto parts store ok to use and how many should I put in?

I personally would never use the oil in a can product. This link should have your oil capacity listing.

Thanks, that's kinda what I was thinking. I will find something better.

My suggestion is a DEC PAG OIL.
