in-line pressure relief vavle???

Year: 1994
Make: gmc
Model: sierra
Engine Size: 5.0
Refrigerant Type: r134a
Ambient Temp: 80
Pressure Low: 30
Pressure High: 190
Country of Origin: United States

I came across a brand new compressor for my truck with one big problem. Where the relief valve used to be is welded up tight.

I was wondering if there is an "in-line relief" valve i could buy to place on the high side outlet hose?

The ideal for me would be a "T" fitting that could fit in the rubber part of the high side hose of the manifold hoses. If that would not work an aluminum "T" fitting would also work, but obviously require I find a qualified welder.

Any ideas would be welcome.

Thanks - Tom

You sure it's welded up? You usually transfer the old to the new - hopefully you haven't turned in your Core.

There is no question about the welding...I have had both units on the workbench and one has a threaded hole and the other has been welded shut. Thanks - Tom
