Hi Lo Pressures

Gmanpumps on Thu May 21, 2009 3:12 PM User is offline

Year: 2002
Make: Saturn
Model: L100
Engine Size: 2.2
Refrigerant Type: 134a
Ambient Temp: 82
Pressure Low: 55
Pressure High: 125

The aforementioned readings are at idle. The 1500 RPM numbers are Low 45, and Hi 140, at 2000 RPM the Low is 40 and Hi is 140. This is after replacing the compressor with a reman, and installing a new drier and condensor. The system was vacuumed several times at 29 in vacuum. The system held vacuum for several hours. Finally I proceeded to charge the system with approx 30 oz of 134a. I feel likely the system is still low on 134a but am concerned about overfilling. The vent temp is about 66 degrees while the outside temp is 82. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. How do I know, since I am using 12 oz cans when the system is really full? Thanks in advance

This vehicle list a refrigerant capacity of 33.5 ounces. Who's reman compressor are you using?

Sorry I dont know the brand. Bought it locally before I discovered this site. I guess my real question is since I am using 12 oz cans, considering loss when changing cans etc, can I go on just hi pressures alone to determine if the system is full? My guess at the amount I have installed, is that only a guess as I have no way of measuring the amount out of the can. Thanks
