What's the difference between a performance and a stock AC compressor.

I am installing a supercharger into my 88 K5 Blazer and needed to move the AC compressor from the driver to the passenger side. So I purchased a passenger side serpentine bracket #10055800 from a 88-92 camaro so I can accomplish this.

can I install a sanden compressor using this bracket. I've been told that this compressor is much better then GM's. is this true?

or should I just go with the GM type compressor.

Thank you,

Both those brackets (Blazer and Camaro) used an R-4 mounted compressor- A Sanden would take a special bracket- there are probably adapters out there--others should know...

The number one A/C diagnostic tool there is- is to know how much refrigerant is in the system- this can only be done by recovering and weighing the refrigerant!!
Just a thought.... 65% of A/C failures in my 3200 car diagnostic database (GM vehicles) are due to loss of refrigerant due to a leak......
