Used/bad compressors have any value?

RxSteven on Sat May 02, 2009 5:22 PM User is offline

I have 5 comps, sanden, and nippondenso. One or two may actually work. Just wondering if they have any value as rebuildable cores, or should I just add them to the next trip to the scrapyard?

Not really, we sell our cores to a guy that supply's the big boys. Normally we would get around $10.00 per depending on the unit. This last time in he said no one is buying cores and the prices for the cores we had was about 50% less than normal.

We get about $2.00 to $3.00 for our cores in the junk yard.. We fill a barrel, and the guys that take our aluminum wheels and cats take them.. Scrap prices fell hard the past six months..
