BVA 100 oil

Refrigerant Type: R-12

I have been redoing the AC on my 83 Isuzu Pup and went to use the BVA 100 oil that I"I've had for about a year and noticed that there seems to be in two parts now. Separated. As if there were two types of oil, both clear, but when I shook the bottle it became real cloudy. Has this oil gone bad or gotten some moisture in it. It still has the tape on the top and was never opened. I went ahead and used the old standby for R-12, #500 oil. It seems that this came up on a posting some time ago but my search didn't find it. Should I use this later and trash it.

That was the Poly something and it even had a black ring in it. I've never seen the BVA separate as described, so I would not use it. Even the BVA can attack moisture and those "sealing caps" are only as good as the person tightening them down.

I just ordered BVA the other day and this time it is coming with dye in it. I can send a replacement bottle if you like when we get our stock back up to par.

Tim, that would be nice. I checked the cap when I first received it to be sure that it was on tight and It was. I like using the BVA 100 so if for some reason I wanted to go to R134 I don't have to change the oil.. Do you want this bottle returned to look at.

Nope, just email me your address and I'll send a bottle in a couple weeks when the stocking order arrives.
