Year: 1996

Model: Contour LX
Engine Size: 2.0L
Refrigerant Type: R134a
Ambient Temp: 90
Pressure Low: na
Pressure High: na
Country of Origin: Jamaica

I am replacing my ac compressor and I am instructed to place oil in it prior to installation, however, I am not certain of the amount of oil to put in it and where it add the oil. I also understand that the same applies to the replacement accumulator/drier.

As a consequence, I am using this medium to solicit assistance regarding the amount oil that's required to be added to my new compressor and accumulator/drier and where and how is the oil to be added. Any and all response will be greatly appreciated.

That's is a hard question to answer with the data provided. Does the replacement compressor come with oil in it? Are you removing the old oil and debris from the system as a whole. The people which sold you the compressor just said add oil but provided no further information on a proper repair? We can provide a total oil capacity listing for this vehicle! If you add that and fail to remove the old oil and debris you risk having trouble with your replacement compressor.

TRB, Thanks for the prompt response it's greatly appreciated. In answer to your questions, no the replacement compressor did not come with oil. I intend to have the system flushed prior to the installation of the compressor and accumulator/drier. If you can furnish me with the total oil capacity listing for my vehicle I will be extremely grateful.
