engine hot a/c off

Hi, Am having trouble with is GMC truck. It says on the dash board Engine hot A/c off. Where should I start looking?

This doesn't have anything to do with the A/C. The computer has decided the engine is overheated, and disabled the A/C to reduce heat load under the hood. So check the engine cooling system. If the engine really isn't overheated, the coolant temperature sensor may be out of spec and needs to be replaced.

Where is the coolant sensor located ?
