prevent slugging a compressor

mak11 on Fri December 19, 2008 12:04 PM User is offline

I've read that it is easier to slug a compressor with liquid if the charging port is directly on the compressor which makes sense.

In such cases where one feels the need to tip a can upside down, what are some ways to control the flow of liquid into the system?

Has anyone ever slugged one when the port was about 2 or so feet from the compressor, ie a Taurus?

Thanks

Best method would be to slowly allow the refrigerant to flow into the system via adjusting flow rate with your gauge set.
