2008 Nissan Frontier/Altima

Year: 2008
Make: Nissan
Model: Frontier/Altima

I have an acquaintance that purchased a 2008 Nissan Frontier with a 2.5 liter engine without airconditioning. (first mistake) Well as you might guess he now wants to put a/c in the truck. He has access to discount a/c parts for a 2008 Altima and was wondering if possibly the condenser, compressor and evaporator were usable in his vehicle.

You professionals probably haven't had to work on anything this new, but I told him I had gotten good answers on this forum in the past and I'd give it a shot.

Any thoughts?

All help will be appreciated.

One is a car, the other a truck (SUV) ?? and the parts will not interchange, you can e-mail the guys at ACKITS.COM and see if they have a "kit' available.. Otherwise you may need to buy a dealer kit.. If that is the case, Tim may be able to get the dealer kit easier than you, but I don't know..Ask the master... Hope this helps..

The packaging requirements between the two vehicles are wildly different so it is a 99% chance the condenser and evaporator just flat won't fit. The only things that MIGHT be the same between the two systems are things like the compressor, drier, and expansion valve which can typically be shared among many, many vehicles. Get a Nissan parts book and cross reference the part numbers....

If he can get parts for its platform mates (Pathfinder and XTerra I believe) those might work just dandy.
