pressure guide

mak11 on Fri September 05, 2008 11:58 AM User is offline

Year: 03
Make: Ford
Model: Taurus
Engine Size: 6 cyl

Does any one know what the high and low ac pressures for a 2003 Ford Taurus would be?

Also is there a good high and low pressure guide on the internet for other vehicles as well?
Thanks

There is no exact way to know, since it depends on ambient temp, humidity being removed, when the fans come on etc.. Always fill by factory amount and use pressures to check the operation of the system, high side will usually run around 2.2 times ambient with a factory refrigerant, higher with retrofits, low side may start out around 40psi (an example) then lower to cycling pressures of between 19 and 21 when the cabin is cooled down or on the highway.. So can't give an exact pressure, but once you recharge it feel free to post the pressures along with the ambient temp. If the fan does not run all the time, you'll see a drop in the high side when they come on, this is normal..hope this helps..
