Received my compressor from ACKITS today, question about oil

Year: 1976
Make: Buick
Model: Electra 225
Engine Size: 7.5L/455
Refrigerant Type: 134a

Hey guys,

IO received my A6 compressor today and I also ordered a couple of 8oz bottles of BVA auto 100. Upon opening the compressor box, there was a white sheet in there that said: "ATTENTION: this compressor contains the oil capacity for a single evaporator system." I read all the other paperwork as well and there was nothing else expanding on that. I guess I do not need to add oil then, would that be the logical and correct assumption. I thought I was going to have to add oil, hence why I purchased two containers. I just want this verified before I do ANYthing with the compressor. Thanks!

Chris

A6 should come with mineral oil in it. You will need to drain the oil in the compressor and use the POE if you plan to use R134a.

Ok, so when I drain it, I just simply invert the compressor and do I need to leave it for any period of time or whatever is in will fairly quickly come out? Also, I purchased the BVA auto 100 for this system, is that ok to add in the 8oz of that once I drain the oil that is in there now out. Obviously a little of the mineral will mix with the bva?

A6 has a drain plug on the bottom/side of the compressor. It always helps to turn the hub a little along with letting it sit a while. A6 will take 10 ounces of oil.
