Accumulator/receiver-drier. Need to replace?

TextI've been told that the receiver-drier should be replaced every time the AC system is vacuumed and recharged. Is this true?
And what about an accumulator? Same thing ?

It's wise to replace the accumulator/drier if the system is open for any length of time or has a few years on it. But if you just open the system to replace an o-ring or something quick. I see no need to replace it.

You do when you disconnect one line with a vacuum in the system and suck an o-ring into it!
