Need help with my 96 nissan maxima A/C

AZduke on Fri July 11, 2008 9:09 PM User is offline

Year: 1996
Make: nissan
Model: maxima
Engine Size: 3.0
Refrigerant Type: r-132
Country of Origin: United States

Hope you could help me out with a mechanical problem. I replaced my bearing pulley on my A/C, along with new o-rings. I bought the the "shaft replacement seal kit" from checkers, but does not seat correctly and I am unable to put on the retaining clip ring. Unit leaked when refrigerant added. My unit is a "Cal Sonic" part # 92600 40u00 / model # 5F202062. Compressor was manufactured in 6/95 (VIN # info).

Can you me tell me where I can find a replacement seal for this or lead me in the right direction.

Phoenix, AZ

Without the retaining ring, there is no way for it not to leak. You may find it easier and cheaper in the long run to replace it, you can keep your old clutch assembly for future use, hopefully you won't need it, but if you want he seal kits, right in your city is the best AC repair and PARTS house. Upper right corner is the address..Stop by and talk to the people there, you may find a remans compressor is a lot less aggravating. Shaft seal replacements can be a bear if you haven't done them before, or have the right tools..Hope this helps.,.

Thanks for the info. I'll give them a call, but replacing a $30.00 seal is cheaper than replacing the whole unit. AZduke
