Re-locating receiver/dryer

vettman on Mon July 07, 2008 7:59 AM User is offline

Year: 1976
Make: Ford
Model: F350
Engine Size: 460
Refrigerant Type: R-134A

I'm in the process of installing one of Arizona Air's AC kits to replace the OEM R-12 system in my truck. I would like to relocate the receiver/dryer from right beside the condenser (using OEM hard lines), to the engine-side of the radiator support bracket--about 18 inches from the condenser. Would this be a problem? Also, are there any issues with the liquid input fitting on the receiver/dryer being above/below the liquid output fitting on the condenser?

Thanks

Should not cause any issues as long as you keep it in the same line configuration.

Line configuration, as in lower than the condenser. I would attempt to keep the canister's elevation the same as before.

Okay--the input side of the dryer will be above the level of the outlet from the condenser, just as before. However, it probably won't be exactly the same.

Not an issue.
