Electronic leak detectors

We used to have a Yokogawa leak detector that you plugged into 120V. It worked well. One day it caught on fire!

We have tried several other battery operated ones with no luck. If you put them on max they wont stop beeping and if you go 1 notch less they wont pick up anything.

Any recomendations on one that works? We have 3 useless ones as it is.

Yokogawa is still one of the best but I would never get the battery models. Sad thing is when Bacharach bought them out they sent the price through the roof. Guys in the shop have been happy with the TEK-Mate.
