Bizzar System RIGGING ??

Runboy on Thu June 26, 2008 9:46 PM User is offline

Ok, here is a really weird question for some of you techie type a/c gurus.
Suppose you were to take a whole a/c system out of something like a mid 90's chevy suburban and rig it into something like an rv etc. What would the thought be on trying to set up a belt system on something like a Briggs and Stratton type engine to turn the compressor? How many horsies/torque would you speculate to keep the compressor turning?
Hope this isn't too far off the norm.
Mike

Don't forget power for the blower motor fan and the condenser fans........

The number one A/C diagnostic tool there is- is to know how much refrigerant is in the system- this can only be done by recovering and weighing the refrigerant!!
Just a thought.... 65% of A/C failures in my 3200 car diagnostic database (GM vehicles) are due to loss of refrigerant due to a leak......
