pressure went up to 500 and them something blew in compressor

I fix a leak on this car vacumm and then recharged the sistem pressure started to climb to over 500psi and then somenthing blew in the compressor could this be due to a fail high pressure swicht, what should i do now?

You're right, the compressor should have shut down. If refrigerant blew out of the compressor it could have had a relief valve, which will either hopefully re-close by itself or be seperately replaceable.

If you didn't overcharge, the most likely reason for excessive pressure is that the condenser fan does not work.
